CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Course

Telesom Academy

April – Aug 2026 Hargeisa

Completed the full CCNA program at Telesom Academy under instructor Mohamed Amen Abdikadir, covering routing and switching, VLANs, OSPF, HSRP, EtherChannel, network security and services, with hands-on labs in Cisco Packet Tracer. Graduated with the Ministry of Defence Integrated Network as my final project (see Projects).

IPv6 101: Addressing Fundamentals

Somali Network Operators Group (SomNOG) & Internet Society Somalia Chapter

Part of the SomNOG Capacity Building Series, this virtual training covered the fundamentals of IPv6 addressing: address structure and notation, prefixes and subnetting, address types, and why IPv4 exhaustion and NAT make IPv6 adoption essential. We also looked at IPv6 adoption statistics for the world, Africa and Somalia. The session strengthened my networking foundation and connects directly with my CCNA studies. I'm looking forward to applying IPv6 in real network designs and labs.

Online Trust & Safety Training

TraInternet Society Somalia Chapter (ISOC) & SomaliRENining institute

July 29, 2026 Online (Zoom)

A hands-on workshop built on the Internet Society's Online Trust and Safety (OTS) Toolkit, delivered by ISOC Somalia Chapter in partnership with SomaliREN. We worked through practical ways to detect online scams and misinformation, strengthen the security of accounts and devices, and navigate the internet more safely. Using real-world examples and a Personal Protection Plan worksheet, I assessed my own online habits and built an action plan for personal digital safety.
